This series is a salute to some of the absolutely passionate and active, adventurers we know. People doing real stuff and who have been exploring wild places for a very long time.
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, sometimes risky – forces you to have first-hand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” Mark Jenkins
Collecting the pictures, stories and finding out more about each of these incredible humans has been fun and inspiring. A HUGE thank you, to you for letting us into your world.
True adventuring is about goal setting, commitment, sacrifice, sweating, freezing, resilience, creative problem solving, been comfortable with uncertainty, working through actions to achieve the goal, looking fear squarely in the eyes and belief. What we learn whilst on the journey, we can holistically apply to our full lives. True adventuring is not always as glamorous as living-the-dream - The reward though is unlike anything, that the pursuit of normal can offer.
We hope that these photographs reflect some happy moments for you.
