Leanne is passionate about holistic well-being. Her work speaks to the inter-connection of body, mind, heart and spirit. She works with children, adults, families, oncology patients and those with special needs. She is the founder of Yoga Bears, focused on teaching children, and the co-owner of the Sandton Yoga Lounge, focused on creating a space for yogis, of all styles, to live their practice. She works as a facilitator for Mindful Revolution bringing mindfulness to corporate South Africa.
Combining her psychology, yoga, mindfulness and meditation experience, Leanne helps people find their natural life rhythm and highest potential. Nothing gives her greater pleasure than helping people to reconnect to themselves and bring balance back into their daily life. Her work accepts that life throws us curved balls; She understands how challenging our individual struggles can be, and rather than denying this, she assists people to optimistically lean into difficulty, to move through these seasons of life, and use them as transformation platforms to become the best authentic version of who we can be.
She has an undergraduate and an Honors degree in psychology. She is a certified as a counsellor to work with HIV, AIDS, Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, as well as the people close to them. She is a SETA accredited mindfulness teacher, whose mentor, is one of South Africa’s leading mindfulness practitioners. Leanne is qualified as a ISHTA yoga, flow yoga, restorative yoga, pregnancy yoga, children’s yoga, breathwork and meditation teacher. Leanne has spent time in India studying the “art of living” and is an initiated kriya yogini. She is a trained aromatherapy masseur. A yoga teacher trainer, she has designed, and authored many courses including; restorative yoga training, teen yoga training and breathwork. She co-authored a 500-hour teacher training course and authored a 200-hour children’s teacher training course.
Leanne is authentic, kind, empathetic and warm. Like all on the team, she has worked through some very difficult life challenges, she is grounded and understands what it means to dig deep. She is an incredibly proud parent and works hard on her role as a conscious mother. She loves spending time in nature, and when facilitating retreats in wilderness, one can literally see how both the environment, and the work, lights up her eyes and feeds her soul.
