Fatima Newman

Fatima is a visionary, principled, widely respected and authentic leader. She is not afraid of embracing challenges or working with change; This is evidenced in her extensive experience at the coalface of executive management and having played a major role in well documented business turnarounds. Fatima brings wisdom, insightfulness and intuition into all her interactions. Her ability to listen, and to listen between the lines, is one of her highest attributes.

Fatima’s experience is diverse, having experience across a range of industries including technology and tele-communications, stockbroking, asset management and private banking, financial services and investment banking. Fatima’s current role at EOH is focused on overseeing the organization's ongoing operations and procedures with a specific focus on developing and managing world-class and innovative Human Capital, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Procurement and Internal Audit functions.

She is a strategic and future-focused leader, who through her illustrious career has dealt with a large range of diverse business issues, including growth and entry into new markets, joint ventures, start-ups and extensive strategic and due diligence work.

Partly influenced through the experience of her own journey, Fatima believes that how we think of ourselves and how we relate to others and tell our stories, creates a blueprint for what drives our behavior and particular outcomes. She believes in Gabor Mate’s viewpoint that “much of what we call personality is not a fixed set of traits, only coping mechanisms a person acquired in childhood”. Fatima is particularly interested in generational trauma and overcoming the negative impacts of entrenched patriarchy and gender-based violence. She has a passion for corporate mental wellness and the associated organizational behavioral consequences in its absence. She believes that resolving these issues are fundamental in terms of creating high performance organizations. Fatima actively champions for the upliftment of those who find themselves in positions unable to fend for themselves.

We came to know Fatima on one of our retreats where she needed to create the psychological space to work through a near burnout. She left with renewed energy and perspective. Now a part of our team, it is her wish to help women bring to the fore their passion, creativity and wisdom that has on many occasions been trivialized by patriarchal systems.

Fatima is an avid reader, loves cooking, art, the bush and exploring new places. She is known for an incredibly giving spirit. Fatima has very strong family values and enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones. She firmly believes that her executive ability to tackle the daily hairy issues she encounters, is made possible by her loving and supportive family structure.
