Anthea has a deep belief in the potential of transformation. In a career that spans over 30 years, she has successful facilitated change within large corporates and non-profit organizations, as well as for individuals and couples.
After graduating as an Occupational Therapist, Anthea started working with troubled young adults; Here she developed a specialism in group therapy and discovered the power of group work. On deciding to build her own practice, her love for groups led her to focus on delivering cultural change in organizations that included stabilizing and rebuilding teams in conflict, as well as enabling performance through creating a deeper understanding of a team’s collective dynamic. Anthea has spent many years working specifically with women. This includes assisting young mothers to learn to balance the challenges of managing a successful career with parenting, as well as facilitating highly experiential, and transformative, women’s empowerment workshops.
Anthea works hard to enable spaces that allow her clients to be the best version of their authentic selves. . She works with her clients on a journey that starts with gaining insights and developing awareness, before contracting around meaningful action and ultimately delivering to commitments through accountability. Through the process she provides a framework and the skills to enable the confidence to have truthful, robust and constructive conversations. Early in the building of her practice, she started using the Enneagram to complement her work; Today, as an accredited practitioner, she brings her substantial understanding and respect, for this instrument, to the fore.
Having worked through significant life changes, Anthea has developed the gift of been able to laugh at herself, and with others, with real compassion. Her feedback often reads “wise and highly intuitive”, “courageous and compassionate” and a “great sense of humor”.
Anthea has first-hand knowledge, of the healing power of being in nature. She is inspired, and has a deep appreciation, of nature’s resilience and regenerative forces. Living in Cape Town, she is an active trail runner and hiker in the mountains behind her home. By the age of 19 she had completed her first multi-day hike along the Wild Coast, and has since clocked many thousands of hours in pursuit of this passion. Her dream is to walk in as many parts of the world as possible.
